Mission: achievement of strategic alignment between regional market requirements and business growth plans through the creation and management of a global portfolio of programs to develop new solutions for the division of Refrigeration, ensuring platforming, cost reduction, and capacity/demand balance.

International Truck&Trailer and Commercial Refrigeration business units, $140M budget, 1800 employees.

Mission: create the role of Operations director, grouping factories that produce to different business units around a single Operations strategy.

Successes: 30% of European production transferred from France to green field in Czech Republic, 61% production growth in China, industrialization of new range of electric products (electrification transition) to reach 7% of sales in 3 years. Deliveries remained uninterrupted during COVID-19 and Supply Chain crisis. Implementation of SIOP process, and digitalization of logistics as key support tools.

Battery plants Transportation, 4 factories, 1300 employees, 15 Mio batteries per year, and 600 Mio EUR budget (125 Mio without material).

Mission: Implementation of automotive change management mindset throughout the organization (battery from commodity to critical safety device). Increase capacity of AGM batteries through investment and productivity.

Successes: 65% reduction of ppms (quality), AGM capacity increased (30%), 1,3% productivity increase (even when AGM technology uses 20% more working time), Italian factory released from Daimler’s improvement program.

Battery plant motive, network, and defense, 800 employees, 1,8 Mio batteries per year, and 150 Mio EUR budget (50 Mio without material).

Mission: improve general performance of the factory.

Successes: implementation of a continuous improvement culture, removal of main factory bottleneck (40% higher output of positive plates) through material flow improvement and retrofit of machinery, social relationship with work council rebuilt, and renewal of key leadership team members.

Minifactory for new generation products, Braking Systems.

Mission: stabilization of quality and deliveries. Sustainable development of local management team.

Successes: factory released from Maruti Suzuki’s improvement program (main customer). Local management team developed, out of which a new local plant manager was also selected.

Manufacturing Engineering and Centre of Competence for Drum Brake, Braking Systems.

Mission: stabilization of quality and deliveries. Develop the factory from technical point of view to execute the project Drum Consolidation (transfer of products and machinery from multiple factories to double the volume in Portugal).

Successes: factory released from PSA’s improvement program, production concentrated in Portugal.
